Disney Day 7- Magic Kingdom

Well, we have made it to our last day of our first Disney trip (which happened almost 2 years ago...)

We saved the Magic Kingdom for last because we wanted to end at the best park for Payton and we knew we only had one day at each park. We decided at the end of the night that the next time we came to Disney we would do MK at LEAST twice. Once at the beginning and once at the end. I feel like I have to see Wishes right before leaving Disney. (Though on this trip it was the 4th of July show and not Wishes!)

If you look at this first picture, you can see how crazy busy it was. We knew it would be since it was 4th of July week. You can also see that it rained...of course. But it was our last day and we had to make the most of it. Starting with some castle pictures. Payton was less than thrilled. But I do like this one with her ears.
And the first ride at Magic Kingdom- the carousel of course. She loved it (and still does- we rode it MANY times on our last trip).
And when she got off, Tim managed to snap some of the funniest facial expressions I have seen. You can see the look of pride and determination on this girl... like "Yeah, I'm big stuff, I rode that carousel, and I am ready for more rides!"

So we went on the Teacups... and I thought she wouldn't like it. But she did. She was even spinning us around herself.
And Dumbo... another fan favorite (still- I am pretty sure we went on this and the carousel a good 50 times on our last trip).

After the FIRST go around with Dumbo (we had fastpasses), she wanted to go again. The line wasn't too too long, so we waited. And since they have the awesome play area for while you are waiting, we decided to go in there with her. They give you a buzzer (think what you get at restaurants) and when it was your turn, it buzzed. Payton loved it. She will also tell you that she pooped here. And she did. And she remembers.
But look at this smile.
And by the time we got back on, it was pouring. OF COURSE. I had high hopes to get a picture of Tim and Payton on the ride (in the air) however, the rain was not allowing it, so this was the best I could do before I had to put the camera away.
Later on, we saw the parade. I took plenty of pictures, but this one just makes me so happy. She was LOVING it and waving to all the characters. And any time anyone waved back she got so excited.
It was then time for  Mickey Bar. Everyone who has had a Mickey bar knows the look of happiness that Payton has in this picture.

Earlier in the day, my mom took Payton to meet Buzz while the rest of us want on Space Mountain- of course the ONE time there is no camera around, Payton FINALLY walked up to Buzz by herself, and took a pic alone. Luckily my mom did snap it on her phone. Later on, we decided to take a "break" at one point and Chip and Dale were out dancing in the crowd. We walked over to let Payton look and lo and behold she went right up there to dance.
And I took far too many pictures and video. And almost cried. Literally friends. It was the sweetest thing and to see her so excited and not shy. Too much!
And all of a sudden she was an old pro at meeting characters...

This next picture is another one we have made a tradition now. We took a picture here when we got engaged, so now we add Payton to the picture.
And at the end of the night we saw the Electrical Parade and fireworks.

But the night wasn't over. It was late, but Payton was going strong. Yes, I let my 2 year old stay up well past her bed time. Yes I let her sleep in her stroller if she crashed. And yes, it was worth it. Since she was still raring to go, we went on a couple more rides before heading out and ending the trip. Firs up- Small World. You can see my niece's feelings on the ride...
We also rode the carousel again (I think a couple times)... look at her face in this next one!
We rode Winnie the Pooh as well and then walked around a bit. At this point, it was just the 3 of us. It was nice to just walk around. And apparently Payton thought so too since she finally crashed.

Until next time Disney!

DIsney Day 6- Hollywood Studios

Look at us posting regularly all of a sudden. It is amazing what I can get done when Tim has regular working hours!!

The next day was Hollywood Studios. It was also the 4th of July. AKA really crowded. This was not a first for Tim and I, as part of our honeymoon was over the 4th and we were in Magic Kingdom that day. We waited HOURS to see the fireworks that year. Lucky for us, MK did their special fireworks the 5th too, so we had somewhat less crowds AND still got to see the show.

Back to Hollywood Studios..

And since we were in Hollywood Studios- Payton had to be a little diva herself...

We went and got in line to meet Woody and Buzz while we waited for my parents and brother and niece to get there. We knew this was going to be a long line, and it was! And Payton wasn't happy about this line, but once we got to Woody and Buzz, she was thrilled!

We went and saw the Disney Jr. stage show. She was very into this one and paid very close attention.
And while everyone else went to ride the Great Movie Ride, we hung out around the sorcerer hat to meet characters. It was nice because not a lot of people were waiting and the characters rotated out. So once one set was done, we would get back in line for whoever was next. It was perfect because Payton would not have enjoyed the movie ride.

Up first- Donald and Daisy.
Notice in this pic below how brave she was getting- she put her arm around them! SO close to doing it alone!
After that was Chip and Dale (just WAIT until you see what tomorrow brings with these two!)

And then Goofy- who Payton promptly told that he had "stinky feet"... which is why she is pointing to his feet in this picture below.

We all went over to the American Idol show later on and Payton got into that too. Clapping along with everyone else and even voting.
And then it was finally time to use our fastpasses for Toy Story! She LOVED this ride (who doesn't?!)
The last thing we did that night was, one of my all time favorites, Fantasmic! I was a little worried Payton would be scared of this one but she loved it! Especially the boat at the end.

Just look at this face... I would say this is the face of a happy girl leaving a Disney park!
Of course we did a lot more this day (backlot tour, streets, lights motor action, etc...) but being that we are almost 2 years behind here, I am trying to focus on the highlights of each day!

Up Next... Magic Kingdom... our last day :(

Disney Day 5- Epcot

The next day was quite possibly the worst day of the trip. At this point, Payton was tired. She did really good, but she was less than impressed with Epcot and she just was not happy. We actually contemplated skipping it but she was doing so good the rest of the trip and there was a few things we wanted her to see (Nemo, Crush, etc) so we went. And for the MOST part, she was good.

Of course she loved meeting the characters... but still wasn't about to go for it alone. So Goofy was with Nonny and Papa.

Then we went to the character spot. And yes, I realize we met the same characters a million times. But it was all she knew and she loved it. I would do it all again and wait just a long for how much she liked having them "fix her book".

And we took some time to look at the fish. I think she could have spent all day here..
But she got eaten by Bruce and we had to go!
We went to see Donald, and while in line, it of course started pouring. So they relocated him inside Mexico. You can't tell but right before this pic she was M-A-D. But Donald makes everything better.
 As does Papa!
We went and met Duffy and she really liked him... even though she had no idea who he was at this point. She does have the book and her own stuffed Duffy now though.

We let her go to all the kidcot stops with her Duffy. She didn't really "get it" on this trip (she did on our second trip though, but we lost that Duffy :( )
She was NOT happy about this next picture. You can't tell because somehow we caught a picture where she looks semi ok but she was having a full blown fit at this point and we were trying to be silly with the hat to get her to smile. She was not having it.
But getting her bear signed made her happy.
We went to see illuminations at the end of the night and had some ice cream. REALLY good ice cream. I can't go to Epcot and not get it. I don't even know why it is so great, but I enjoy it. And we played a riveting game of peek a boo...

And on the way out Tim snapped this picture that I think is just awesome, so I had to share.

Up Next... Hollywood Studios
