More foods..

Payton has been trying lots of new things still. It takes us a while to introduce new foods because we are making sure she has no allergies and because we try to do it when we are both together. Sometimes that doesn't work out though.

On December 3, Payton tried Mum Mums- Banana flavored

On December 11, Peaches

On December 17, Bananas... in the car on the drive to Buffalo. Gotta do what ya gotta do sometimes..

On December 21, Pears... without daddy because he was already back home

On January 1, carrots

So far, still nothing Payton doesn't like. In fact, she even likes green beans now! After trying out fruits for a couple weeks, we went back to squash (a fan favorite apparently) and at first she made the ick face (which cracks me up but I can never catch it on camera) but then realized she liked them. And now... she knows getting in her high chair means she' getting the good stuff!

We also let her try some of our foods too (soft things)... mashed potatoes a couple times, bread (teeny tiny crumbs) from pizza crust or soft pretzels. She really enjoys everything so far.

On December 31, she had some yogurt melts for the first time but we were out to dinner and the cell phone pics aren't really anything to see. So I will take pictures next time she eats those so you can see how much she loves them too!

Christmas

Christmas came and went real quick... like it does every year. Except thanks to Payton taking her time opening presents we did get to drag out some presents until Jan 1. She started her celebrations on Christmas Eve by going to church. We came home and Payton looked outside to see if she could see Santa... he wasn't in town yet. So she settled for a story and a present from Mommy and Daddy...

Payton woke up the next morning and was anxiously waiting for Tim to get back in the house from taking Roscoe outside. She knew there were lots of presents for her under the tree and she wanted to waste no time digging in... And she truly appreciated her gifts. Until she started opening books that didn't make noise. She actually started figuring out what presents weren't worth her while lol. And don't worry, Roscoe of course got presents too. He got a couple toys, some bones, treats, and kong refills. He also knows how to open his presents and get the toy out. About halfway a quarter of the way through, Payton crashed. Tim and I took this time to open our gifts.

When Payton finally woke up, we got her ready and headed to my parents house, where Santa left lots of presents for her. She got Sophie, a laptop, a rocking horse, a popper, among many other toys. Santa was very nice to bring presents to both houses for Payton...

After dinner and dessert, we made our way back to our house so Payton could try to finish her presents here. She didn't... but she got the good stuff opened!

Click the pictures to make them bigger so you can read the captions.
And yes, all of these collages were made using My Memories software! I could have done a lot more with them and added embellishments, but in the interest of time (we are almost a week into January here) I thought better of it! They are really cute though right?!

6 month progression

Payton is really starting to look like such a little girl now instead of a baby...at only 6 months old!! She is also getting too heavy for us to hold her up there for these pictures so we are now thinking of a new place to take pictures for months 7-12.

Christmas in Buffalo

So we expected Payton to experience a White "almost Christmas" being that we traveled to Buffalo... we were wrong. It was a little cold but there wasn't a flake of snow. Even though Payton didn't get to have a white almost Christmas, she still had a good one. We celebrated Christmas after her Baptism... it was a really busy day and she did really good, never really fussing or anything. After she opened her baptism presents, she got Christmas presents from Great Grandma, Uncle Sean, and Aunt Toni.

A book!!
After we finished here, we went to my Aunt Pat's house for Christmas. The kids had a good time together and Payton received lots of great gifts. I don't have pics of everything but here are a few pictures from that night.
You can't tell but this is a Minnie Mouse snow person

And this is the Mickey Snow person
And all the excitement finally wore her out and she knocked out!
Like I have said many times... it was a crazy busy day. But Payton behaved, she got to meet most of her family, and we had a great time... even if I may still be a little exhausted from the trip!

The conclusion of the 25 days of Christmas...

... but not the conclusion of Christmas posts. We have plenty of those still to come. Anyways, here is the final batch of pics from Payton's 25 days of Christmas!

I know you can't really see this one but this is the best I got- it says I <3 Santa and had a reindeer on the butt

And so we partied...

We decided semi last minute to have a mini baptism/meet Payton party. As I mentioned before, it is very difficult to see everyone when we go to Buffalo, no matter how long we are there for, and Tim was only there 2 days. So at the last minute we called my grandma who was able to let us use a community room in her apartment building to host the party. It was hot as can be in there but I am grateful they let us use the room for free. The party wasn't anything fancy. We had subs from Wegmans, chips, wings, and cake. It worked out just fine and everyone got to spend time with Payton, which was what it was really all about anyways. So without further ado... party pictures

Cousin Angelo and his daughter Meadow (and Gram in the background there)

Hanging out with Grandpa
The V side of the family
The G side of the family (and friends)
The S side of the family (and Toni and Nadia)
The cousins-we might be a little Italian

From Uncle Sean
Sorry boys, you won't be the first one to buy Payton something from Tiffany's
Because Aunt Toni got her a piggy bank from there
There aren't too many pictures that I took at the party because Payton was busy being a social butterfly. It was really nice for Payton to get to spend time with everyone!
