Half Birthday!

I know, I know... late again. But this time I have a very valid excuse.. on Payton's 6 month birthday we packed up and took Payton's first trip to Buffalo. (Post on that to come I promise). And ever since returning we have been going nonstop trying to get everything for Christmas. How did Christmas get here so fast?! I swear time goes by faster now that Payton is here! I want to get this posted and I promise I will go back and add pictures asap. We are using her Christmas pictures for her 6 month pictures but with how busy we have been and Payton getting sick AGAIN... we just haven't had a chance to take them. It is on the agenda for today and tomorrow.

Sleep- Well our good sleeper has temporarily taken a vacation. I think teething has started because you are waking up for your paci. Something you have never done before, even as a newborn. You also sleep in your own crib now (most nights) because you just weren't comfortable in that pack and play anymore. Some nights you wake up and daddy is too tired to keep going to your room to give you the paci and you make your way back into our room at around 4am. But a lot of times you are still sleeping in your own crib when I get up for work (and of course I rush in to check on you).

Daily Routine- Honestly- what routine? This past month has been so chaotic with daddy's work schedule we are just glad you are mostly happy at all times.

Feeding- When you wake up you have a 7 ounce bottle and some oatmeal with mixed fruits. Then 4-6 hours later you get 7oz and a fruit or veggie. Again 4-6 hours later same thing. Then before bed 8oz formula and oatmeal. Sometimes you only eat 3x a day which really confuses us.

Weight-
birth- 6lbs 8oz
2 weeks- 7lbs 8oz
1 month- 8lbs 15oz
2 months- 10lbs 5oz
3 months- mommy's guess is 11lbs 13oz... I was close this time! 11lbs 11oz
4 months- mommy's guess is 14lbs 3oz (we will find out Thursday) I was close again! 13lbs 13oz
5 months- our at home estimate is 15lbs  due to a yucky cough we found out you weigh about 15lbs 10oz (dressed and diapered still)
6 months- at home guess 16 lbs 10oz but we will see on Dec 27 15lbs 12oz

Height-
birth- 20 inches
2 weeks- 20 1/4 inches
1 month- 21inches
2 months- 23 inches
3 months- 24 inches
4 months- mommy's guess is 25 inches
5 months- we haven't busted out the tape measure but based on the past few months I would guess 26 inches. I will have to check one of these days
6 months- hmm I will guess 26.5 inches until Tuesday 27 inches!!

Diaper size- Still size 2s and fighting a diaper rash pretty much every day for the past month

Clothing size- Since we are celebrating the 25 days of Christmas attire everything is 6 months right now but I know that some of the 3-6 month clothes will still fit.

Hair color-
birth- brown and a lot of it
1 month- brown but it seems to be lightening and even getting mommy's natural red highlights (you can see them in the sun)- still a lot of it- but it seems she is losing some
2 months- it is looking a little more red in the sun and is thinning out- a lot. She has two bald spots in the back of her head now, instead of just the one she was born with.
3 months- looking brown again and the bald spot in the back is just a hot mess. It looks like we took scissors and cut a straight line clear across the middle. The dr is guessing most of the hair will fall out and grow in a different color.
4 months- oh Payton we are so sorry for this genetic letdown. Your hair is a beautiful color brown with natural red in it, however it is thinning and what isn't gone is a wavy, frizzy mess. I sure hope that changes!
5 months- Still brown with red highlights and seems to be curling a little bit. Nothing too drastic yet but it looks like you may have some curls, at least in your younger years.
6 months- brown and the bald spot in the back is finally starting to fill in

Eye color-
birth- brown/green with a blue outline
1 month- it appears she will have eyes like her daddy- some days they look green, other days brown, other days hazel, and even once or twice they have looked blueish gray.
2 months- they are more brown than green so I am guessing she will have big brown eyes.
3 months- still brown but they have their green days.
4 months- mostly brown but the green/hazel comes out every now and again
5 months- brown eyed girl
6 months- brown (lighter than mommy's)

Favorite toy/entertainment- Anything and everything. We can dump anything on the floor and you will sit and play with it. Right now you especially like your glow worm at night and your feet. Anytime you get the chance you chomp on them! Teething toys are also a big hit right now (especially the gel foot- what is it with you and feet?!)

Nicknames- Pretty Girl, Baby Girl, Stinks, Chunka Monka, Princess, Chunker Butts, Miss Tish, Stinker Butt, The Prettiest Girl, The Biggest Girl, The Biggest Girl in the World,  Pretty Girl Payton, Stinker Pot, Pretty Pretty Payton, Chunksters, Chunkster the Chunkster... I have crossed some off that we have thrown out the window recently.

Funniest /Favorite moments- Oh this past month has led to lots of favorites. First my most favorite was watching you laugh hysterically when daddy threw clothes on the floor. And I have especially loved taking you to all of the Christmas happenings (posts to come) and seeing you meet Santa again!

Milestones-
You had your first giggle fest (see above).

You are trying all kinds of new foods and haven't disliked anything yet.

You give kisses on your own. Well you have always given kisses but now you are even leaning to people to give them. It is another favorite thing of mine, even if it means you slobber all over me!

You have mastered the tripod sit and are able to do it for as long as you want, and even sit unsupported for a little while.

You can roll both ways and have shown it but you truly refuse to. You are scooting all over the place and can get anywhere you want to go by scooting. You have figured out how to rock back and forth if you are placed on your hands and knees but can't get to your hands and knees yourself yet.

Firsts-
trip to Nashville
time meeting Santa (and 2nd time too)
time eating peas, apples, mum mums, peaches
time decorating the Christmas tree
time to Zoo Lights
time sleeping in your own crib
rolling all the way over from back to belly (even though you have been able to for months you chose not to)
Christmas party at school
time tasting a cookie and a cheese puff (at party)
time at the winter program at mommy's work

Payton-

Remember when you were just an immobile little baby (well of course you don't but we do)? My how fast the time has gone by. You are all over the place now and you can't go anywhere without getting into mischief, but that's ok. I wouldn't trade this for anything. Even if you are sitting here pulling on the blinds as I type this. We have had such an amazing 6 months with you in our lives. You are the best gift we could have ever asked for. Every night when I go to bed, I thank God for such an amazing little girl in our lives. And daddy is just over the mood for you. You are our pride and joy and nothing will ever change that!
Love,
Mommy and Daddy
