Testing out how to post videos

Well... I have been trying all week to catch Payton moving. It isn't easy. I did, however, test the camera on Roscoe so now I want to see if I can figure out how to post videos on here...

Ok apparently it is going to take too long to post a 49 second video. I guess I need to figure out how to crop the video and just post certain clips...

28 weeks

Where has the time gone? I feel like it was just last week we were finding out that a baby was on the way and just a couple days ago we sent out Christmas cards! Maybe because I sleep so much I feel like time is flying. Our shower was great and now it is just a matter of getting Payton's room all ready for her big arrival (not that she will be in it right away, I want it looking good before she gets here). It is painted, her furniture is put together, and her clothes are washed and hanging (or folded in the drawers). We still need to wash her bedding and get the crib made, hang decorations, and put away a few miscellaneous items. Oh and I am making pom poms to hang over her dresser too. Once all of this is done, I promise I will do a post showcasing her room. It is the best room in the house! (it is the only one we have painted since we moved in... spoiled much?!)

Last night Tim and I went to Best Buy to get a video camera. I wanted to have one before she is born because I want to record things she does. We grabbed the sony bloggie camera (it is similar to a flip but made by Sony). It was good for what it was but there were some things that I didn't like about it after using it. I decided today to return it and look at regular camcorders. I figure that eventually we will upgrade our iPhones to the 4 (or a future one if there is one coming soon) and that will have a video camera that can be used when a quick camera is needed (which is what the sony/flips seemed good for to me). While looking today we found a great deal on an HD camcorder. It was marked down $300 because there is a new model coming out... the only difference in the new model and ours is that the new one will allow you to add on attachments and can do 3d.. I am no pro and don't need to be adding things to it and I certainly don't want 3d! So I got the camera for half price and only $100 more than we paid for the small Sony. I haven't used it yet because I need to charge it but maybe later I will record Roscoe doing something cute and put it up. I would record my belly moving, but Payton is camera shy and whenever I try to catch her in the act, she stops. Literally! This morning (when I was torn on returning the Sony) my stomach was going crazy and I grabbed the camera to record it... as soon as I pushed the button she stopped. I think I recorded my stomach for a good 2 minutes. As soon as I turned it off and put it away, she started moving again! Eventually I will catch her...

Anyways, no time to ramble anymore. I am trying to clean most of the house before Tim gets home because he is grocery shopping for me tonight.

Date: March 26, 2011
How far along: 28 weeks
Sleep: Yes please?
Best Moment of the week: Finding out I passed my glucose test!
Movement: She is all over the place!
Food cravings: I have been pretty content. Thanks to Aunt Susie and Jamie for my sponge candy :)
Food Aversions: None
Maternity clothes: Doing good with what I have.
Symptoms: Same as before. Nothing new. Back pain is getting slightly better but I am not sure how long that will last.
What I miss: not feeling like a whale when I try to roll over in bed. I have to hoist myself up and roll over. What a sight I must be!
What I'm looking forward to: our 4d ultrasound if I could ever get the damn place to answer when I call!
Weekly wisdom: Just face it, people have no filter around pregnant people.
Milestones: Passed the glucose test. Getting closer to the 30 week mark. And being in the third trimester (according to the bump anyways)

Of course Payton is still the size of an eggplant. I am ready for a different food now!

Baby's lungs are mature enough that, if born right now, she has a pretty good chance of surviving (with help from medical technology). Her skin is still pretty wrinkly (one byproduct of living in amniotic fluid) but will smoothen as fat continues to deposit.

Tomorrow I am hoping to get some sewing done but I am not sure how that will go. I will hopefully get some blogs ready for the week too. Until then...

Oh and of course the picture will be coming soon... we haven't taken one yet but we will

Finally here it is...

Baby Shower

On Saturday the 19th we had our baby shower in Buffalo. I have to say I have the most amazing family and friends ever! My mom organized the whole thing, Aunt Pat, Janine, Kim, Anne, and Aunt Susie cooked a lot of AMAZING food, Aunt Susie got us the cutest favors, Ashley had the cake and cupcakes made and made the door prizes, and Jackie decorated the place perfect for a princess! I was so pleased with how it all turned out. We only played a couple games... the clothespin game and guess how big the belly is with yarn. Some people in my family thought I was a lot bigger than I am! Some people's yarn was taller than me!!! I mean I know I am big but come on nearly 5 feet around!? We got a good laugh out of it.

After the couple games it was finally time to eat. I, of course, had two plates. I say one for me, one for Payton.... but really I just wanted to have a little bit of everything. It was all delicious! We got a ton of cute stuff too. We are so thankful for everyone who came and gave Payton presents! I will let the pictures do the rest of the story...

The cutest cake ever

And the cupcakes to go with it (and showing how much I LOVE my lens)

The favors and centerpieces... favors were candles inside baby food jars and centerpieces are oreos

A scrap book of this blog... I looove it!

Payton is apparently going to have a shoe obsession...

The girls of the family (minus Anne and Brea because Brea got sick :(  )

All in all it was a great shower but it went by way too fast. We have a ton more pictures of gifts but I didn't want to post a million pictures and overload the page. I wish we had more time and that I would have thought to take pictures with everyone that helped with the shower. But by the time I thought about it, everyone was already leaving. Next time we will be home will be with Payton, so we can take pictures then!

Last day in Nashville

Our last day here we just walked around the main area and took a few pictures. We spent a while trying to find someone to take pictures of us. This was an ordeal and people clearly didn't understand how to use our camera because we are blurry in all of the pictures. Oh well...

Here are some pictures from the hotel.

Another of my favorites from the trip
This one too!

And off we went...back home to unpack and repack to head to Buffalo for the remainder of the week.

Baby shower post coming soon...

Shopping extravaganza

On Sunday, we decided to make our way to the outlets. We knew there was a Carter's outlet that we wanted to check out and figured there was sure to be something else we wanted to shop it. Little did we know there was also a Gymboree outlet and a book store with very cheap books. We spent more on Payton than we did ourselves, and Tim got two shirts from Ralph Lauren and I got a Coach purse and wallet. BUT.. everything we got for her was on some type of a sale or clearance. I am good like that. So here are just a few pictures of what Payton got...

Tomorrow- our last day in Nashville. We didn't do anything but take some pictures around the hotel and head home. We had to get home, unpack, and repack because we were leaving Tues morning at 4am to head to Buffalo!
